Leadership Story Edit Sessions for organisations

Help your leaders
be known for the
work they do now

A client is about to sign. Before they do, they look up your new director. What they find is a profile from 2 jobs ago.

These leadership storytelling sessions help your people get clear on what they stand for within the organisation, and come across that way to the clients, candidates, and boards who look them up.

For people and learning teams

You've invested in your new leaders through promotions, programmes and coaching. Then a client, a candidate or a new board member looks them up, and finds someone who hasn't caught up yet.

These sessions fit around the moments you already plan for. Everyone leaves with a plan they can start the following week, and I come back 12 weeks later so you can see what's changed.

Moments that matter for people teams

  1. A promotion cohort stepping into bigger roles. The work gets bigger, and people start asking what they stand for.

  2. Joining a leadership team or board. New peers and new stakeholders give them a short window to be understood.

  3. Returning from parental leave or a career break. A chance to pick their story back up on their own terms.

  4. Succession and handover. Senior people move on, and the next generation needs to be seen.

For founders and managing directors

Right now, clients probably ask for you.

Your senior people are brilliant at the work. But when someone looks them up, that doesn't come across, so the trust and the work keep landing on your desk.

These sessions help your team tell their own story, clearly and in their own voices, so clients start asking for them too.

Moments that matter for founders and MDs

  1. Making someone a director or partner. You're expecting them to bring in work, and nobody has shown them how to be found.

  2. Moving into a new market or sector. You're walking into rooms where nobody knows your team yet.

  3. A rebrand, merger or restructure. The business's story changes, and your leaders need to be able to tell the new one.

  4. Stepping back yourself. Client relationships need to move to the next people, and those people need to be seen.

Who you'd be working with

I'm Vivi Koroma Kala, a leadership storyteller. I've spent 16 years in marketing, 5 of them growing the Squiggly Careers podcast from 100,000 downloads to 5.6 million, across 411 episodes, alongside learning campaigns that supported tens of thousands of people.

I know the careers and learning world from the inside, and I've seen how this kind of work lands inside organisations, from keynotes to workshops to bigger programmes.

What I've noticed, again and again, is that what people want most is someone to think their story through with them, and help them say it out loud.

I've run sessions with The Marketing Meetup and spoken on stage at LinkedIn with People Like Us.

I'm based in London and work with people wherever they are.

Most leaders were never taught this

Most senior people learned how to come across by watching the leaders above them, in meetings, at events and in the corridor.

Many of today's leaders moved up during or after Covid, with far fewer chances to watch and learn. They're good at the work. What they often lack is the words for it, and a way of being visible that doesn't feel like showing off.

Your people are your shop window

Before anyone works with you, they look in the window. They look up your directors, your partners and the people who will be in the room.

If the window still shows last season, some people walk on by. Others come in expecting something different from what you actually offer.

These sessions help each person dress their window for the role they have now, and change it as they grow.

3 ways to work together

Leadership story sessions and programmes are shaped around your team. Most programmes are for 6 to 10 people and run over 12 weeks.

A taster workshop

From £1,500

A 60 to 90 minute lunchtime session for a team or network, in person or online.

It's a simple way to see if the work fits before committing to more.

A leadership story session

A half day in person with a leadership team, or a group going through the same change.

Everyone leaves with the start of their own story and their first moves, and we meet again as a group 12 weeks later.

A programme

For a team going through a change together, such as newly promoted leaders or people returning from leave.

Each programme includes a 1-to-1 Your Story Edit for every person, plus group sessions and a 12-week check-in for the whole team.

What your people take away

  1. Stronger representatives for your organisation. Leaders who come across with confidence help you win work, hire well and build partnerships.

  2. A clear line on what they do and what they think, that they can say out loud in a meeting, a pitch or on a panel.

  3. Their own version of visibility. Nobody has to post every day. For some people that means writing. For others it means commenting in the right places, following the right people, or simply having a profile that matches their work.

  4. A plan they can act on, starting the following week.

  5. A 12-week check-in, so you can see what's changed.
